Red Bull Spect Eyewear – sunglasses and motocross goggles

Red Bull Spect Eyewear is a joint brand of Red Bull and the Austrian eyewear maker SPECT Eyewear from Graz. The collection offers 100% original sunglasses and sports glasses, motocross and enduro goggles and spare parts for them.

How to find your way around

  • Lifestyle and sports glasses – shield-style sports models (DASH, DAKOTA, DUNDEE, RIDDLE, RUMBLE), models with the WING system (KRAFT) and lifestyle frames (CHESS, ELIOT, EARLE, DRIFT, ECOS).
  • Motocross and enduro goggles – WHIP, STRIVE (also the smaller STRIVE S), EVAN and TORP.
  • Accessories – replacement lenses (e.g. LIGHT GREY FLASH), STRIVE straps in several colours and roll-off systems for EVAN and TORP.

What to look for

Filter category: for most sunglasses the manufacturer specifies category 3 – a dark lens for bright sun. Under EN ISO 12312-1, category 3 glasses are suitable for driving in daylight, but not at dusk or night. Polarisation cuts glare from water, wet roads or snow; according to the manufacturer many lifestyle models have it, while shield-style sports models do not list it. Prescription: for some frames the manufacturer states they are suitable for prescription lenses – fitting is done by an optician.

For motocross goggles the lens is key: clear for woods and low light, tinted or mirrored for sun. WHIP has a single cylindrical lens, STRIVE a dual lens. Always buy spare parts for the specific model – TORP lenses and tear-offs do not fit STRIVE, WHIP or EVAN. More from the brand is in the Red Bull collection.

Frequently asked questions

Are all Red Bull Spect sunglasses polarised?
No. The manufacturer lists polarisation mainly for lifestyle models; shield-style sports models such as DASH or DUNDEE do not have it in their specifications. Check the product description.

What are tear-offs and roll-off?
Tear-offs are clear films on the lens that you pull off while riding, mud and all. Roll-off winds a long strip of film from one canister to the other, so no films end up on the track. Both must be made for the specific goggle model.
